A ministry of Grace
Influencing Australia with the Word of Faith
Statement of Faith
We, Word of Faith Churches Australia, hold the following tenents
of faith to be irrefutable truths:
1.
There is one God-Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all
things.
2.
The Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was
conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was
crucified, died, was buried, was resurrected, ascended into
heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the
Father and is true God and true man.
3.
The Holy Scriptures, the Bible, in its entirety is the inspired
Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.
4.
Mankind was created in the image of God and in true
righteousness and holiness and in perfect relationship
with God. Through disobedience, mankind sinned and was
separated from relationship and fellowship with God and
thus was lost and hopeless. As a result all mankind, born
of man, is born in sin. But God did not leave mankind
hopeless but promised that the redeemer would come
born of a woman who would restore mankind back to
relationship and fellowship with God.
5.
Jesus Christ is that redeemer, born righteous, who
defeated the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) and in taking
sin for all mankind (2 Cor 5:21) and through His shed
blood restored and reconciled mankind back to
relationship and fellowship with God and has given all
mankind a charge to declare this restoration of favour and
relationship with God (2 Cor 5:19).
6.
Jesus Christ’s redeeming work is appropriated personally
by any person who confesses with their mouth Jesus as
their Lord and believes in their heart that God raised him
from the dead (Rom 10:9). This is the new birth (John 3:3)
and is how a lost person is saved.
7.
Jesus Christ’s redeeming work is a free gift from God and
not of works of man or woman (Eph 2:8) and it is received
by faith.
8.
Faith, a free gift from God (Rom 12:3), is exercised by the
saved out of a personal relationship with God as their
Father and Jesus as their Lord and faith alone pleases God
(Heb 11:6).
9.
The Lord Jesus Christ alone calls, appoints and anoints the
five fold ministry, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors
and Teachers, to the service of the Gospel, for the
equipping of believers for the work of the ministry and the
building of the church, which is the Body of Christ in the
earth (Eph 1:22-23, Eph 4:11-12). The work of the five fold
ministry is to “preach the Word of Faith” (Rom 10:8).
10.
The Word of God is the final authority in any situation,
and:
1.
faith is the substance of things hoped for and the
evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1);
2.
there is no higher kind of faith than to put absolute
trust in the Word of God over, and in the face of,
contradictory circumstances (c.f. Matt 8:10); and
3.
Jesus gave authority to all mankind when He
ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of
majesty on high. That authority is exercised through
faith and by speaking to the mountain and not
doubting in the heart (Mark 11:23).
11.
There is a personal catching away of the saved (1 Thes
4:17), a second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt
24:37), a resurrection of the dead, an eternal heaven for
the saved, the eternal punishment for the lost, and the
final judgment (Heb 6:2).
12.
Sanctification, separation of persons to God, is through
the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit.
13.
All the saved are called to personal holiness and purity of
heart and life.
14.
Divine healing is appropriated through faith in the Name
of Jesus Christ, and that healing is included in the
Redemption, and is available to all the saved.
15.
Water baptism is an ordinance for all the saved by the
example of Jesus Christ himself. Baptism in the Holy Spirit
as distinct from the New Birth, speaking with other
tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4, Acts
10:46), the gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor 12:4-11), and the
evidence of the fruit of the Spirit are available to all the
saved.
16.
There is a Christian's hope - the soon-coming, personal
return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
